Lee joins Prior on injured list

Things are turning sour for the Cubs before the 2006 season. Their key star players are coping with shoulder injuries. Derek Lee got hurt in the USA game against Mexico this week after making a diving catch. His return is expected though before Opening Day. Thank God, it wasn't anything serious. When Wood and Prior are still suffering from arm and shoulders problems, the Cubs can ill-afford to other setbacks. Spring Training will be over in a few weeks so time is winding down before the 40-man roster is set.

It's nice to see Felix Pie getting a chance to show his skills in Spring Training. Hopefully if he continues to play well he'll be brought up in the early part of the season and provide some extra offense off the bench. Matt Murton should have another good season and see more playing time. Dusty will have manage the outfield rotation (what he has to work with so far anyway). I don't know what to expect out of Jacque Jones. Maybe he'll turn out to be a nice catch, who knows. The Cubs need Lee back as soon as possible for the opener. He will be expected to fuel the offense. Let's just hope not all the time.
