The homestand back hasn't been potent yet. The Cubs dropped the game last night 7-3 despite bringing up a few good call ups in Micah Hoffpauir and Tyler Colvin. Striking first to drive in 2 runs the Cubs slipped back later. Carlos Silva (10-6) got the start. He didn't get much of a lead. The other main players in the lineup got their day off with the coaching staff going to the youth for answers in the lineup.
Through mid-innings they came up empty. The lineup still has to look towards it's veterans in late moments during the game. Tuesday evening nothing happened much with run scoring due to moving players around too much. Marlon Byrd is at current the only regular Cub I believe hitting over .300. Tyler Colvin did his part with a 2-for-4 showing and 2 RBIs. All the Cubs want is to close out the series against the Astros with an advantage by taklng it and gaining ground. Allan Trammel doing okay working with hitting instructions and coaching now. The Cubs can do it and finish up at Wrigley fine before heading on the road.
